Council votes to go Non-Partisan
At last nights Town Council meeting Mary McDowells campaign promise to turn Portsmouth from a partisan election to a non-partisan election became one step closer to a reality. Mrs. McDowell put back on the agenda only after 2 weeks to "Discussion and request to move the non-partisan election forward in the best way that makes sense for our community. " After little discussion the vote was take and passed.

Standing up to Trump!
Islanders for Democracy is inviting all interested citizens to join in the peaceful protest from noon and 2 p.m. on Saturday in front of BankNewport, on the adjacent sidewalks of the bank’s property facing Clements’ Marketplace.
Anderheggen said she organized the protest so that Portsmouth would have a presence, especially for those people who cannot get up to Providence for the larger rally that culminates with a march to Kennedy Plaza.
